Notes for RHODA TAYLOR:
On the marriage license for Jonathan and Rhoda appeared her father's name, William Taylor and George Taylor Jr. as "witness". Many of the Taylors in Montgomery county Virginia lived along a creek called Crab Creek that feeds into the New River. With John Taylor at the mouth of Crab Creek, William Taylor with a large survey of 860 acres next above, and George Taylor Sr. and George Taylor Jr. of 656 acres in the upper reaches, Charles Taylor, a nearby neighbor, Isaac Taylor over the ridge, and another John Taylor in Clover Hollow of Sinking Creek, we may call this Taylor Country. Excepts from Mary Kegley's, "Early Adventures on the Western Waters".
Notes for CATY GRAVILLE:
About Cathy Graville's grandfather, Nicholas Adolph Flohri:
He was in the Revolutionary War.
Notes for NANCY HARRELL:
Information from the book, "Warren County Families" at the Kentucky Museum in Bowling Green Kentucky.
Nancy is probably the granddaughter of Robert Harreld. The spelling, Harreld, was handed down in family records. Other extant spellings are: Herrell/Harrell/Harrold/Herald, etc. Robert Harreld was a pioneer settler in Warren County and died there Feb. 25, 1824. Evidence suggests the Harrelds may have moved to Warren County from Nelson County, Ky, in which case they probably entered Kentucky on a flotilla down the Ohio River, Robert Harreld was probably born in 1770.
He had land grants in Logan County Kentucky in 1796 and two other grants in Warren County in 1797.
Robert Harreld married Margaret Edminston(?) and had a large family. As listed in Warren County Court Suit #916, and in order given therein, the children were: Mary Polly, Edminston, Margaret, Karren, Sina, John, William, Dorcas, Cyrus and James.
Robert Harreld died intestate and his son, John Harreld, was executor. The land holdings were large, and included property in TN possibly a part of the wife's dower. At one time Robert Harreld served in the Kentucky legislature.
Notes for ELIZABETH HACK:
Elizabeth Hack possibly moved to Fountain County Indiana to be with her brother George after Jonathan's death. Later, most of the children would be recorded in Fountain County also.
